George Harrison Single Notecard

George Harrison Single Notecard

This photograph was taken by Pattie Boyd of her husbad George Harrison fishing near Catalina Island's Lover's Cove. Following the breakup of the BEatles in 1970, HArrison organized The Concert for Bangladesh, the first rock n' roll concert stated to provide humanitarian aid. Work on the event began in earnest during June of 1971, and at some point between June and August 1 - when the concert took place in Madison Square GArden - Harrison and Boyd contacted the Memphis musician Don Nix, whom they wanted to help find back up singers for the conert. The three met in Los Angeles. This photograph records a rare day off, when they chartered a boat and sailed to the waters just off Catalina Island.
